Staff Spotlight: Kim Stoltzfus

Kim is the newest full-time staff member at Bench Mark Program, but she’s a familiar face that has been a consistent presence at the gym teaching mindfulness. Today she’s a program coordinator for our SBSB program which teaches students communications and financial skills, mindfulness and street law curriculum.  We’re so happy to have Kim be an official part of the Bench Mark team!

Years at Bench Mark Program: I taught mindfulness at Bench Mark for about a year before coming on staff full time in June 2020.

Why do you think Bench Mark Program is so important to the Lancaster community? Bench Mark is important to the community because it offers a safe space for anyone at anytime.

How was Bench Mark Program changed and shaped you as a person? The staff and students have supported me in pushing my limits both physically and emotionally. I have learned to have faith in myself and believe that I can do hard things!

Other than Bench Mark, what is something your passionate about? The outdoors. If I'm not at the gym, you can find me in the woods, rivers or my garden.

What is your favorite sports team? I'd have to say the Penn Manor Comets because that's where my son plays football. I love being a football mom!

If you were a superhero, what would you want your superpower to be and why? Wonder Woman, for her superhuman strength, speed and agility.

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be and why? Neuroscience. I am fascinated by the human brain and how it works.

If you had to describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be? Resilient. Kind. Compassionate.

What is one goal you would like to accomplish in your lifetime? I'd like to set up an eco resort on an island somewhere...teach yoga, kayaking and provide delicious, healthy food.
